Kathryn is originally from Hamilton and studied for both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in architecture at Strathclyde University. She originally worked at an architectural practice in Hamilton. When moving to Kintyre, Kathryn joined us as a Chartered Architect in 2011. In 2015 she became our practice associate. In 2020 she became a director. In 2025 she became manging director of Bowman Stewart.
Ewan Stewart MRICS
Surveyor
Consulting Director
A native of Argyll, Ewan is from Muasdale in Kintyre. He studied at the University of Dundee and Heriot Watt University. After working in Perth and Norway for a number of years, he returned to Argyll and joined our practice in 2007. He became principal in 2014 when Martin retired. He has since left the practice but acts in a consulting role.
Morag MacGillivray
Practice Administrator
Another native of Argyll, Morag is from Kilmartin and after moving away for some years, returned home to Argyll. She joined us as practice administrator in 2017.
Martin Stewart CEng MICE
Civil Engineer
Consultant
Martin established the practice in 1984. He provided architectural and engineering services throughout the West Coast of Scotland. He retired in 2014. After his son Ewan took over as principal, Martin remains a consultant in our practice.
Tim Stewart
Architectural Technician
The newest addition to our team, Tim is a native of Argyll. After graduating from the University of Glasgow he worked in Sussex then Central Scotland returning to Argyll to join the practice in 2022. He is currently developing his skills to become a Chartered Architectural Technologist with CIAT.
