Profile

We are a firm of Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Architects, based in Argyll.

Established in 1984 by Martin Stewart, we offer a range of land and built environment services to clients ranging from homeowners, distilleries and farmers, through to hoteliers, church and community organisations. Our work is varied, from designing houses and extensions; specifying renovations; advising on the planning process for potential developments; to undertaking building surveys and appraisals of land for development.

Based on the west coast of Scotland, we have undertaken projects all over Argyll and the Islands, the Firth of Clyde, Stirlingshire and the Highlands.

We are regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and are a Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Chartered Practice. We are also approved certifiers of design in Energy under the Scottish Building Regulations.

Our approach

We aim to provide an efficient, personal and professional service. As a client-focused practice, we are friendly and approachable and do not impose our ideas, but work with our clients. We pride ourselves on the close and lasting relationships we form with them. A significant proportion of our projects are repeat clients. Almost all of our commissions are through personal recommendations.

We have productive relationships with Local Authority Planners and Building Standards officers, SEPA and other agencies, together with local contractors and tradespeople.

Living and working in Argyll gives us insight into the economy, culture and communities of the West Coast of Scotland. Our local knowledge and wide area of practice means we have a breadth as well as depth to our skills.
